GENERAL DESCRIPTION

PowerVid is the newest motion picture compression engine at the leading edge in the world.This proprietary engine can be used in digital video storage or video communication, specialized in the digital video recording of the surveillance monitor system. PowerVid owns a supper performance to overcome the existing products which use the common compression technology, such as AVI, MJPEG, MPEGI, or H.263.

This advanced technology dramatically cuts the redundancy of the original color or gray video with little distortion. Low bit rate with a good image quality makes it possible to meet the requirement of the long recording time in a limited storage space or to transmit the motion pictures through Public Switch Telephone Network (PSTN).

The sophisticated feature in the motion detection can extend the recording time in the same storage space. In some special applications, the recording length can be improved to 3~4 times or even longer. It also saves the expense in the investment of the motion sensor and makes the full surveillance system more easily to be installed.

The digitized video files own all the benefits of the digitized information. It can be easily operated such as playback, post process, and storage. All these features will push the digital technology to replace the old analog technologies. This market is fast growing up due to all the advantages and fast dropping price of related peripherals. The world is going to be digitized.

FUNCTIONS

MOTION IMAGE RECORDING

PowerVid owns an intelligent algorithm to provide a high compression rate and keep a good image’s quality for the video. The percentage of the motion image in one picture is smaller and the higher compression rate you can get.

This feature can detect the image motion in the monitoring areas. If there are something in moving in thess area, PowerVid will be triggered to record the image. If not, it will not process the recording.

By this way, PowerVid can save a lots of storage space of the hard disk and expand the recording time under the condition of the fixed storage space.

This function can let users to mask multi specified areas, like as a door or a window, on the scream. If there are some image changed in these indicated areas, PowerVid 3.0 will be triggered to record the image. If not or outside these areas, PowerVid 3.0 will ignore them. It is an effective solution to extend the recording time under the condition of the fixed hard disk‘s space.

 

PowerVid allows users to adjust the recording image quality. There are 14 levels. The lower image quality chosen, the higher compression rate you get. But the benefit is the smaller storage space.

The input image can be color or gray.

While in recording, users can adjust the parameters of the input video signal, like as brightness, contrast, saturation, hue.

PowerVid allows the users to set up the recording speed from Second/Frame to Frame/Second.

The users can name the cameras for their convenience in the monitoring window.

3 hard disks are offered to storage the video files. The users can be easy to arrange their hard disks up to 3. This feature provides the capability to backup the video files.

PowerVid offers users to choose whether to continue the recording by deleting the oldest video file or not, while the hard disks are full. This capability allows that users do not change their hard disks.

PowerVid provides the automatically recording capability depended on a scheduled timetable. That‘s meaning the user can preset a recording starting time and a recording ending time. When the appointed start time has come, PowerVid will start to record until to the preset ending time.

It is available to input multi-recording schedule in the timetable. 4 repeat modes are available.

 

ALARM FUNCTIONS

In the masked areas, if there are any thing moving, PowerVid will detect this movement and trigger the alarm function.

PowerVid allows users to mask detecting areas to monitor the movement. Users can easy layout their surveillance areas.

If an alarm event happens, PowerVid can speed up the recording speed to take more detail video information.

When the alarm function is triggered, PowerVid can play a warning sound to notify the surveillance quards or to warn the invaders.

When an alarm event happens, PowerVid can inform the remote sides by the telephone or the pager through PSTN.

PowerVid will register the alarm events into a log table. Users can easier get the message of an alarmed event.

 

 

REMOTE ACCESS

One digitizing benefit of the image compression is a smaller digital data size you will get. It is not only to get a reduced video size but also makes the remote image transmission in a low cast possible. Through the compression capability of PowerVid, users can monitor and record the action of the remote site through the Public Service Telephone Network (PSTN) or Local Area Network (LAN). Users can easy construct their infrastructure as necessary.

One simple user interface can help users to use this remote access function without learning. One phonebook (For PSTN) and one server list (For LAN) is offered to users to save their daily-used phone numbers and computer sites. Users also can select the received image size before they want to access a remote site. Even though, the remote site is executing the recording procedure, the user still can access it.

Users can use the general modem to get the living video from a remote site. The mode can be 56k, 33.6k, or even 28.8k bps.

Users can view and save the video from the remote PC which is logged into the LAN.

 

PLAYBACK FUNCTIONS

PowerVid supports the direct search function. Just only inputting the desired time users can search and play the recorded video directly.

The other way to approach the video file directly is to open an alarm event log.

Users can play the video file in a speed changed from 1/10 to 10 times. These different playback speeds are very helpful to view the video files.

Users can use the forward/backward skip functions to control the playing process.

While in playing, this function can freeze the playing video.

BOOKMARK

PowerVid offers a bookmark feature in order to access some interested points of the whole video file quickly. If the bookmark is set, only by clicking this bookmark, it will jump to the marked point and play the video from this point.

 

PC CAMERA‘S FEATURE

(Capture or retrieve a static picture)

PowerVid offers users a PC camera‘s feature. User can use the feature to take pictures as a PC camera.

PowerVid provides a capability to capture a static picture while it is in recording, playing, or remote monitoring. This captured picture will be saved as a standard format, BMP file. It can be retrieved by PowerVid or any other application software which supports the BMP format.

VIDEO CLIPPER

The saved video file can be clipped into a smaller file by this clipper function. In the most cases, only some special section is interested or useful to users. They can cut the interested section and save it as a new file. Therefor, they can transfer this small file easier.

PASSWORD PROTECTION

PowerVid provides the capability of the password protection. The length of password can be up to 256 characters. This feature can avoid the unexpected visitors to access PowerVid.

MULTI-PROCESS

While PowerVid is executing, users can still operation the other application software, like as M.S. word or else, simultaneously.
